Hello there!! I’m Deidre!!
I’d love to tell you a little about myself… I’m married to my high school sweetheart (I know, right?!) and we have three amazing daughters. You’ll see them on my blog or Facebook page from time to time, because they are just too darn cute (especially baby because she isn’t tired of photos yet… photographer child problems). I’ve lived in Wichita since 5th grade, so it pretty much feels like I’m a Wichita native. And we so love our city! We live in Riverside and love our old home in a beautiful neighborhood!
I fell in love with photography in high school in the darkroom over 15 years ago, but my passion was reignited 8 years ago with the birth of our first child. We hired a professional to capture that special time and am SO glad we did. I loved documenting all of the tiny details about life and my baby that I would otherwise forget. In 2009, I began serving families professionally, and specialize in capturing young families, including maternity, birth, breastfeeding, newborn and family photography.
Random other things I love…
Birth… I’m a Trust Birth meeting facilitator in Wichita and have photographed births! I’m a certified “birth junkie.” Babies #2 and #3 were both born at home. Currently, I’m partnered with Private Womb midwifery for a few births a year for her clients (sorry, I’m not booking any other births right now, as I can’t take on too much while I still have tiny babes). It is always such an honor to be invited into a mother’s sacred birth space to document precious memories for her. This area of my life has been a positive for my photography business, since I am aware of the unique time surrounding birth and a new baby. I’m also sensitive to the special bonding going on with baby and family, and work hard to never disrupt that.
Knitting… I LOVE to knit! Which is why my girls are almost always wearing cute knits in the photos I post! I also dabble in creating knits for other photographers and fashionista babies/kiddos over at Dear Meadow Knits!
So, PLEASE drop me a line! I would LOVE to get to know your family and get to work creating beautiful art for you!
And how about one of me and my loves…
